To lose weight quickly it is important to have a diet plan. The saying "fail to plan and you  plan to fail" is very true when you are contemplating a fat loss dietHere is a first tip for your weight loss plan:




1 Prepare a good menu of low fat foods to eat for your first week. 
This is very important. You can use the internet to help you find low calorie foods for your breakfast, mid day meal and evening meal. Find foods that are appealing to you but low in calories.

2 Do not set unrealistic targets for your first week. 

This will help you not to be disheartened if you do not lose as much weight as you hoped. In your first week, if you are eating the foods that you decided on in your diet menu, you will be eating more healthily and this is your first goal. Try not to be more ambitious than you need to be.

3 Set Realistic Goals 
It is important to set goals, but try and be realistic. If you are in your twenties it will be a lot easier to you to lose fat, than when you are in your forties or fifties, because your metabolism will be faster.

4 Incorporate an exercise regime to go with your diet. 
You probably realise that there are two basic ways to lose weight - consume fewer calories or burn more through exercise. If you can combine the two, you will lose weight quickly. If you already exercise, you could consider increasing the amount of exercise or use cross training, which is doing at least two different types such as swimming and cycling. This will help to prevent you from becoming discouraged.

5 Make sure you sleep more. 
This may sound strange, but if you cut down on your calories and exercise more, you will become more tired, so you will need to aim for an extra hours sleep each day, so that you will not get over tired and then be tempted to eat more.

6 Treat yourself every time you reach a goal. 
These should not be dietary treats such as extra food. You could treat yourself to a trip to the pictures or some new clothes etc. It you do this each time you reach a target, it will give you added motivation to help you reach your next goal.

7 Use Something Other Than Losing Weight To Measure Your Success. 
Try and aim to exercise for more minutes, per session or swim more lengths rather than just measuring your success by the weight you lose. This way you will improve your fitness and you will stand a better chance of losing weight in the long run. If you just measure your success by the weight you lose it is easy to become disheartened.

8 Make sure you avoid foods that will make you put weight on quickly such as doughnuts, cheese and peanuts etc.
