- Do I have the motivation?

If you answered yes to any of these questions that does not mean you will not achieve your goal of weight loss. It simply means that you will just have to work harder at it. If you are just starting on your weight loss journey these ideas will help you move along.
- Gather a support system
- Keep a food journal
- Decide on the best diet for you
- Include into your diet vitamins and supplements
- Develop an exercise plan that you can stick with
Make a list of your weight loss goals (i.e. pounds lost, inches lost, new clothing sizes, etc)
Common weight loss mistakes
There are a few common weight loss mistakes made by everyone, especially if they are first starting out. It is best to recognize these mistakes upfront so you know what’s in store and can do your best to avoid them.
Never starve your body: You may think by eating less food you will lose the weight you so desire. Well in a sense this is true, but cutting calories and food intake will have adverse affects. The weight loss will include muscle mass and increase your health risks. By not getting the nutrients your body requires you are putting your health at risk.
Over the counter diet pills: Just because it claims to help you shed 10 pounds in one week doesn’t mean it’s true. Be on the lookout for weight loss products and pills that seem to be good to be true, because chances are it is.
Detox Diet Plans: These plans are unhealthy to you and your body. They pose a risk of dehydration and can be very dangerous.
Vomiting: Making yourself vomit is definitely not a good method of weight loss. The acid found in your stomach is very strong, and is meant to stay there, as it can burn through your esophagus and mouth.
Tobacco: Smoking may make you think it’s keeping you skinny. But not stopping smoking because of the fear of weight gain is one big weight loss mistake. Smoking tobacco hurts almost every organ in your body, and has been linked to cancer. The benefits of stopping tobacco outweigh the weight gained by stopping.
Now that you understand how to get started with your weight loss journey you are better prepared for obstacles. To get the most out of your weight loss make sure to pay close attention to detail of what to avoid, and what to try.
