Good Food to Lose Weight


Most people think exercising is the only way to lose weight. These people spend hours in the gym and sweat more than anyone you have ever seen before. You will see this person 1 month later and they haven't lost a pound. The reason is definitely not because they aren't working hard enough in the gym but is because they aren't eating right.
Developing and practicing good eating habits is the single most important aspect of losing weight.
 It accounts for 80% of all weight lost while exercising is only taking care of about 20%. With over 70% of the United States' population overweight, this is a valuable piece of information that most people do not know.
Finding a great eating program is vital to losing weight. First you should know what diets to avoid. The low carbohydrate diet is one of them. This diet forces you to be extremely cautious about what you eat and is very difficult to sustain. That is actually the good part of it because if you follow it for too long you actually are hurting your body because it needs carbohydrates to function properly. This diet causes you to have headaches, become irritable and lose sleep.

The starvation diet is another one to avoid. It is pretty much exactly how it sounds. You skip as many meals as you can or simply cut each meal in half and only eat that portion. This is one of the more unhealthy diets as your body needs food to live. You will actually be more unhealthy on this diet that if you gained weight.
The good foods to eat that will help you lose weight are the foods without the most grease. Greasy french fries and other fried food is some of the most unhealthy food you can eat. If you like to fry your chicken try baking it or putting it on the grill. It still tastes delicious and is much healthier for you.

Fish is another extremely healthy food. It has a lot of protein and nutrients and can be baked and grilled as well. Avoid the deep frier whenever possible and eat as many colorful fruits and vegetables as you can.
A great snack is an apple, some yogurt and a glass of milk. You can add cereal or peanuts to your yogurt and it becomes a delicious treat.
